From May 31st to June 16th, the Retiro Park hosts a new edition of the Madrid Book Fair. It is one of the most popular cultural events and with the largest number of visitors, and this year celebrates its 78th edition whose 3 main topics are: readings, readers and bookstores.
The fair will have 361 booths where more than 1,500 authors will go through. During these days, booksellers, publishers, distributors and official agencies will have the opportunity to showcase their novelties, bring reading to the public, and establish direct contact with the readers.
Activities program of the Madrid Book Fair
To celebrate this great festival of literature and books, a complete program has been organized with nearly 300 activities for all audiences.
The Children’s Pavilion will feature an extensive program of activities inspired by the sea, where children can experience pirate adventures, enjoy games, workshops, storytelling, and much more.
The Move with Acciona Pavilion has focused on the young audience. Here, visitors will find a playful and educational space with different proposals where, in addition to reading, there will be space for other activities such as talks, raffles, or even a space dedicated to the world of comics, with the Marvel Universe as the protagonist. In this same pavilion will take place the activities programmed by the Classical and Modern Association, where the role of women in literature and music in History will be vindicated.
Those who want to chat with their favorite authors and get their books signed, can do so in the more than 4,000 book signing acts that are expected throughout these days.
Guest Country: Dominican Republic
The Book Fair also has an international component, and this year the guest country is the Dominican Republic. Under the slogan “Discover a country of culture”, it will feature the presence of different personalities of the country, and a full program of activities in order to approach the Dominican culture to the visitors of theMadrid Book Fair, which will alternate signatures of books, talks, conferences and even merengue and bachata concerts.
In short, the Madrid Book Fair is consolidated as one of the most prominent and popular cultural events, and it is undoubtedly a must-see for reading lovers.
