After the renovation works, that have lasted about 6 months, last weekend Madrid has inaugurated the new Gran Vía.
After the remodeling works, the Gran Vía has gained 6,800m2 of pedestrian space, allowing a greater and more comfortable influx of people. In addition, original modular design benches have been installed alongside the Street.
The council have also planted 89 trees, accompanied by planters and bushes throughout the entire avenue. All in all, this great city artery has become a much more pleasant and comfortable avenue for pedestrians.
Christmas lights switch on
This inaugural event of the new Gran Vía, has coincided with the Christmas lights switch on.
Several spanish architects and designers have designed the Christmas lighting, which this year is renewed in streets like Jorge Juan, Marcelo Usera, or Boltaña. And, of course, the recently inaugurated Gran Vía, which emulates a starry sky where some cats play and try to catch stars.
Lights, chains, arches and fir trees will adorn and illuminate the most emblematic places of Madrid during the Christmas festivities.
Those who are looking for accommodation with a central location, that allows them to enjoy Christmas in Madrid will find it in our Gran Vía I apartment. A modern apartment that contrasts with the classic architecture of the building in which it is located. Undoubtedly, a very special accommodation, with a spectacular interior design project, and an unbeatable location, right in the center of Madrid. Available for short and long rental periods.
